MahindraTUV300 Car – The next blockbuster in the MPV segment

Mahindra cars are amongst the best-selling cars in India. They are the market leaders in SUVs and MPVs in India with one of the best SUVs ever offered on Indian road as the Mahindra XUV 500 sporting the first single monocoque design used ever by the company giving a brand-new look to the vehicle.

About Mahindra TUV300

The Mahindra launched the TUV 300 in mid-2015 to gather its market share in the mini SUV segment. The name TUV stands for tough utility vehicle which is its true spirit given its boxy looks adapted from Mahindra Bolero and some futuristic details borrowed from Mahindra XUV 500. The Mahindra TUV 300 sports a frame chassis with rear wheel drive engine. It shares its platform with the Mahindra Scorpio and has the same engine as Mahindra XUV 500 but with a lesser engine displacement giving lower power and torque as compared to its sibling.

Mahindra TUV 300 Engine

The Mahindra TUV 300 is offered in two different engine variants namely, the 1.5-liter mHawk I3 diesel engine and a 2.2-liter DW12 mHawk I4 diesel engine along with manual and a semi-automatic transmission option. The engine capacity of Mahindra TUV 300 is 1493 cc giving an ARAI approved mileage of 14.91 km/l altogether which is reasonable given the size of engine. The car generates a power of 84 BHP with a torque of 230 NM which makes climbing a slope at low RPMs a cakewalk.

The Mahindra TUV 300 is offered in 7 different variants with Mahindra TUV 300 price (New Delhi) of Rs. 9.77 lacs for the base trim of T4 Plus going all the way up to Rs. 13.19 lacs for the top-end trim of T10 AMT Dual tone. (All the prices are on-road Delhi prices)

Mahindra TUV 300 features

The Mahindra TUV 300 is basically a 7-seater with ample space for rear passenger to seat abreast taking a strong lead over Renault Duster being offered in the same price range. The car is fully loaded with features like armrests for front passengers, cup holders, bottle holders and charging sockets for never letting your devices running out of juice. The car is true people hauler transporting people over long distances efficiently. The car also houses parking sensors with steering mounted controls, Bluetooth connectivity for infotainment system. However, airbags and ABS are not standard on any trim but there is an independence of choosing airbags at a reasonable amount at any trim level which is a first in class offering for this segment.

The Mahindra TUV 300 is a longer Mahindra Quanto or Mahindra Nuvosport on the platform of Mahindra Scorpio which gives a more than fresh air than any design can. The styling is rugged with feels of boxy vehicle which is appreciated by many customers all over India. Moreover, in 2018, a TUV 300 Plus variant was launched which is a 9-seater version of the same car increasing the dimensions of the existing car at rear and quite acceptable for rural to urban commuting where the vehicles running to and fro are not that much in number.
