New Automated Concept for Casting Deburring and Light Machining
| This cell demonstrates the concept of using a FANUC F-200iB PKM (Parallel Kinematic Machine) Robot to perform casting deburring and light machining. This concept leverages the best attributes of both robotic and machine tool technologies, to create a solution that provides Maximum Flexibility and Cost Effectiveness. The solution is both unique and completely built around “Commercially available, Off The Shelf” Components (C.O.T.S.), keeping in mind “Total Cost of Ownership” and its importance relative to productivity and profitability. | The concept was to show the F-200iB outfitted with a machine spindle as the machining end of the cell. A FANUC 2-Axis positioner served to add additional rotary Tilt capability to the workpiece side of the cell for a full 6-plus-2-Axis of motion. Workpieces were unloaded from a storage magazine and clamped in place on the FANUC Positioner with Hirschmann's System 9000 high-precision milling palletizing tooling. An additional FANUC M-20iA 6-Axis robot controlled by Hirschmann‘s CellMaster Cell control software was used to show how this cell could be ramdomly loaded for true lights-out production in this tedious and sometimes dangerous operation. |
